ContaminEX ® Decontamination Fluid

Our decontamination fluid has been developed for the Laboratory and Nuclear Decontamination Sector to remove surface contamination and remove radioactive isotope residue. It is a highly alkali surface decontamination solution that should not come into contact with polycarbonates or non-ferrous metals such as zinc or aluminium.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

1. Shake the bottle well before making solution
2. Dilute using potable (tap) water* according to the below

• 20-30ml ContaminEX  to 1 Litre Water for General Cleaning
• 40-100ml ContaminEX  to 1 Litre Water for Persistent Contamination

3. Fully immerse and soak the items for up to 24 Hours, depending on level of contamination ensuring no air bubbles
4. Agitate the items and solution from time to time to reduce contact time and improve cleaning
5. Following Decontamination and Cleaning, remove items from the solution and rinse thoroughly under flowing water. Ensure all visible traces of ContaminEX are removed
6. Dry thoroughly with low lint cloths, allow to air dry or use an air dryer

*Using warm water (up to 500C) and/or an ultrastonic cleaning bath will speed up cleaning time. In certain specialised or critical areas, demineralised water can be used.

Contains amongst other ingredients: 1-5% Amphoteric Detergent, 1-5% Non-ionic Detergent, Potassium Hydroxide, Nitrilo acetic acid salts and Acetodiphosphonic acid
